Phoenix Design Week is coming up in just over a month and I'll once again be speaking! I wasn't sure if I'd be eligible since I spoke last year, but I put together a pitch for what I'd talk about and hit send. A week later I got an email saying not only was I selected to be a speaker, I'll also be speaking from the main stage!
So, now I actually need to start preparing my presentation...problem is, we've been swamped at work, I'm teaching again and the semester is in full-swing, AND I'm heading to Switzerland for a week and a half for our 10-year anniversary.
The topic I'll be speaking on is something I'm going through right now, and will spend the rest of my career working on: Finding Success as a Freelancer/Small Agency. I'll be sharing my own life lessons, things I've learned along the way, things my mentors have taught me, and things I wish I would have learned a lot earlier. Things like the importance of a good bookkeeper/accountant, hiring the right people, and networking, but also how to find clients and keep clients.
So here's my question for you, what have you learned along your journey that might apply, or what questions do you have that you'd love to have answered?
